INDIVIDUAL EXPOSURE CLASSIC SHOWCASES
Exposure Classics:
Exposure Classics are an integral part of gaining access to college coaches and engaging in the recruiting process. While AAU tournaments are important the exposure events allow you to showcase your individual talent directly in front of college staff. It is an opportunity for coaches to see you in all facets of the game like rebounding, off ball awareness, and defensive positioning to name a few.
At all of our events you will see coaches from all levels of play. The schools will represent D1, D2, D3 as well as NAIA and JUCO programs. In the summer of 2010 we will have a showcase during the D1 live evaluation period. This will bring special emphasis to the potential D1 player and corresponding D1 coaches.
TWO MAJOR COMPONENTS TO OUR SHOWCASES:
Recruiting Seminars:
We designate time to spend with parents and athletes to discuss the world of recruiting
Topics Include:
1. Evaluating where you fit
2. Selecting target schools
3. NCAA guidelines
4. How to make contact with coaches
Game Play:
You will play in at least three games with referees and some abbreviated rules that allow the games to move at a quicker pace. Every participant will have many opportunities to show off their skills both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Keep in mind at all times that coaches are watching to see not only how you react with the ball but what are you doing while not involved directly at the ball. Your body position and posture say a lot about who you are as a player.
At the end of each event you will leave with a greater appreciation of what it takes to play at that next level. You will also be able to better evaluate where you might fit in the Collegiate basketball world.
We will have provided you with the basics you need to start the recruiting process. If all goes well and you’ve attracted the attention from the coaches present we know that they will be contacting you to begin the college search.
On April 11th, 2010 we had our spring showcase at Loyola University's Reitz Arena facility in Baltimore, Maryland. It was a D2,D3, JUCO and NAIA event since it was not a D1 live period. We had 120 players and 21 Colleges represented. The Schools in attendance were: Randolph Macon Marymount Susquehana York Hood Frederick Community Frostburg Montgomery College St. Marys College Franklin and Marshall McDaniel North Carolina Weslyan Bowie State Haverford Shenandoah University of Maryland Eastern Shore Lebanon Valley College Montgomery College Hagerstown Community College Ohio Valley University The event was extremely successful from several standpoints. First and foremost 120 players had an opportunity to display their talents in front of 21 programs that recruit from the Baltimore and Virginia area. We had players outside the region from West Virginia, Southern Pa.,New Jersey and Ohio that had a chance to be seen by coaches that ordinarily may never have seen them play. Finally, the participants had a chance to evaluate their skills against other players that aspire to play at the next level.
